S12 BMMO Midland Red Type S12
Revised vehicle dimensions in 1950 allowed for 30ft single deckers. Midland Red ordered 43 vehicles shared between bodybuilders Brush and Metro Cammell. These became the S 12 class being built in 1950-1 with 44 seats. The class was similar in design to the S 8/9/10 and 11 and all of these were rebuilt to the same length as the S 12 ( 29' 3" ) in 1951-3.
